Welcome To The Matthew Project

Men in our culture are under attack.  Consider these statistics:

  1. 85 percent of all incarcerated men report having no father figure in their lives
  2. 90 percent of all homeless youth and runaways are from fatherless homes
  3. 71 percent of all high school dropouts come from fatherless homes
  4. 61 percent of all U.S. men, ages 15 and above, do not profess faith in Christ
  5. Only six percent of men who profess faith in Christ are involved in ongoing discipleship training

Rampant divorce rates and broken homes have left boys with too few male role models and the consequences of addiction, gang involvement, crime and suicide.  The feminist movement and emasculating portrayals of men in prime time media have assaulted men’s God-given position of family leadership, creating confusion and misgivings about their role in society.

Responding to God’s call on his life, Chad Revelle founded The Matthew Project in August 2003 to equip, inspire and encourage men to “lose their life for Christ’s sake” (Matt. 10:39) and to become the husbands and fathers God created them to be.

By bringing men to a life-saving relationship with Jesus Christ and restoring their God-appointed position of servant leadership, Chad seeks to unify families, revive and grow the church God intended, and extend the reach of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

When men, as leaders of their households, are united and living with Christ, the impact extends to families, the church and the world.  Chad draws from his own life experiences, meets men where they are and talks straight with them about tough, real-life issues. As a result, marriages and families are often sustained, restored or saved.

Through The Matthew Project, Chad reaches out to men, fifteen and up through schools, prisons and churches. He provides mentoring and discipleship through one-on-one coaching, small group interaction and corporate worship services.

The Matthew Project is founded on these Core Values:

Christ is King (Acts. 4:12, Phil. 2:10,11, Rev. 1:8): We believe that Christ is not only our savior but our Lord, and no decision or course of action will be taken without first consulting and acknowledging Christ.

Family: We believe that the family is the first and only institution. We believe husbands are to lead and submit, wives are to submit and lead, and children are to obey their parents. No event or relationship other than with Christ will come before the strengthening of the family.

Relationships (Gen. 1:26,27): We believe in treating all others as being created in the image and likeness of the God of the Universe.

Excellence: We believe excellence is not perfection but the persistence to rise above any circumstance. Being Godly stewards of the talents He has given us, we do not hide them but use them to serve God and bring glory to Him and Him alone.

Courage (Rev. 12:1, Joshua 24:14,15, Acts. 4:20): We believe that we should face all that God allows to come our way and never decrease in speed, giving all thanks and glory to Him, both in good and bad.

Meekness:  We believe meekness is power under control, knowing when, what and whom to fight.

Country:  We believe in respecting and honoring of our great country; being founded upon Christian principles of “freedom”, “unalienable rights” and the equal value of all people.
